Daniel Dean’s definition of a logging job: cut down the tree, trim off the branches, and drag the main trunk to an area where it's loaded onto a truck.

A lot or most of the underbrush is run over in the process of cutting and dragging the logs. It can be big mess and you need to be aware of it. If you aren't prepared for it you can very easily be shocked and upset. Some timber buyers will sugar-coat the job to a customer, tell them one thing, and then do another. Not telling a customer what to expect is the same as deceiving them.

Above shows the difference between merchandising pulpwood out of the top (left) and not merchandising it (right). [Note: Sometimes market conditions do not allow us to deliver pulpwood.]

There are some things that you can do to make a logging job look better, but it's still a mess. It is important for the pulpwood to be merchandised out of the top. It will make a world of a difference on how the job looks.

Even if the you don't want to have the mess cleaned up, Daniel Dean will give you a price for that option.
